Bosco Wong films MV, dances on a wet setting

source: asianeu 11.12.08

Yesterday, Bosco Wong was filming for the MV of his new song "Hey Boy". In the MV, Bosco had a light shirt on while dancing in the water with the weather being 13 degrees Celsius (55 degrees Fahrenheit). Because the director wanted to shoot Bosco's handsome side, he especially got a big supply of firearms for the background props, there were also sexy dancers arranged to dance with him. But the most difficult part is when one of the female dancers had to spray Bosco's back with a hose for 30 minutes, in order to be able to dance on water. Already adapted to the hardships in filming, Bosco gave a sigh and said that being a singer is not easy. Bosco expressed that he is most worried about slipping on the wet floor, other things he has not thought about. But the director highly praised that Bosco was well trained in TVB and the results were pretty good. Bosco smiled and said: "The difficultity in filming this MV is not the same as the difficulity in filming "Burning Flames 3", earlier it was so hot (40 degrees celsius) that I was about to faint, or even nearly getting burned by fire." Asked Bosco if he got spray on any "important" areas of his body? He said embarrassingly that there shouldn't be a problem, don't want to think too much." But recently, he was having a fever and had a sore throat, he said: "Because I had to go to the US for promotion, before boarding my flight, I went to the hospital's emergency room to get a shot to reduce the fever, after that luckily I did not have a fever anymore, but the flight was more than 10 hours I felt a bit dizzy, after eating I would feel like vomiting, it did not feel good."

Tavia Yeung talks about Ron Ng, Raymond Lam, Bosco Wong, and Moses Chan
source: asianeu 10/12/08

Mak Ling Ling: Let's talk about guys. How about we start with the one you are most familiar with and share the same manager, Ron Ng.
Tavia: Ron is a virgo (just like Tavia) and he does not like people who are annoying. He used to give me a feeling of a big child that never grows up. He never used to care about the outcome, but guys are never 定性, so it is not to blame. In rest years, he is better and he is more practical/ideal. He knows the direction he wants to take.
Mak Ling Ling: But he has a lot of bad press/news!
Tavia: Those are just fake news. It is only "entertainment news" for the audience to indulge after meals. After you have finished reading it, you will forget it the next day. The most important thing is to know when to receive. In this business, time does not wait for people. Guys can wait, but girls cannot wait. Ron is more mature now and he knows how to deal with things. We don't have worry about him. I, personally 都錫 him because we are under the same manager for 7, 8 years. We are like a family and I obviously hope he does better and better!
Mak Ling Ling: What about Raymond Lam?
Tavia: Raymond is a person with great self-control. He never strived for the top when he first entered this business. He went through a process of training and did his best with what he was given. Just like now and then they will re-air series where you see him playing a prison guard.
Mak Ling Ling: Do you think Raymond's appearance has noticeably changed? (Talking about Raymond's plastic surgery rumours.)
Tavia: I have changed, too! As long as you are healthy. 咁人梗係貪靚啦, especially in this industry, 追求美有好多心態, 要貪靚先可以歷久常新, 好過俾人話殘唔 keep o丫!
Mak Ling Ling? What about you? Will you consider plastic surgery?
Tavia: Maybe one day I will. Once every pretty girl have surpassed my age limit, I wouldn't mind going through with it.
Mak Ling Ling: How about Bosco Wong? I watched "Dicey Business" and you guys are quite a match. You said you once had a crush on a person that works in this industry, is it him?(Totally not true because she once said in an old interview that it was a person in the next classroom while she was in TVB's Acting Class. Also, Tavia forgot Bosco interviewed her many times before he went into acting. If she had a crush on him then, wouldn't she remember him?)Tavia: He is the type of guy with the guts to talk about poop, pee, and fart in front of me. Raymond does not dare to and it is rare of Ron to do it. For example, we would be filming and he would tell me, "I want to fart" or "I have to go poop." He truly treats me like one of the guys. But when we are ready to film, we have a lot of chemistry. Even in real life or in the series, he would put his arm on my shoulder and ask me, "Hey, what's up honey (wife)? (played husband and wife in "Dicey Business.") To put it in a bad way, he is a sweet talker. Luckily, I am 心水清 (pure of heart) and will not let him "tum" me.
Mak Ling Ling: What about Moses Chan?
Tavia: This one is like a big brother. He has taught me many things and he is a steady guy. But actually, he is also a big child. I was kind of afraid to film with him previously in "Land of Wealth" because he is very silent. He would hold a cup of coffee and walk to one side and not care about anyone's business. I didn't know how to start a conversation with him. It wasn't until the filming of "Moonlight Resonance" that I knew he is actually a crazily fun guy.
Mak Ling Ling: If you were to pick one of these four guys to be your boyfriend, who would you pick?
Tavia: There is no perfection in this world...
Mak Ling Ling: Let's just say these were the only four guys left on this planet, who would you pick?
Tavia: I will pick Ah Mo (Moses) because he gives off a considerate feeling. There is a very big sense of security standing next to his tall frame. He and I have filmed holding hand scenes and his hands are very big. Girls will feel a big sense of security.

Tabloid magnets Kevin Chen and Kate Tsui standing strong

Entertainment industry gets hit by economic crisis too - Stars not spared

"Last One Standing" not only made Roger Kwok infamous with his role, but also allowed Kevin Cheng to have a great breakthrough in his acting. Kevin even expresses that it is his favorite role thus far. As for getting awards for his performance, Kevin is not especially concerned. He is contented with the opportunity to take up such a great role, and winning the cheers of viewers. "An award would be an extra bonus", says Kevin.
In the midst of the current economic downturn, no profession is spared; even Hong Kong's entertainment industry is affected. Having received TVB's Best Actor in a Leading Role award last year, Kevin reveals that a pay cut is in the current economy is inevitable, and he is prepared to accept it and ride out the crisis together with everyone.
Kevin shares that his market value has indeed increased after receiving the award, but not to the extent of half a fold, "That would be too exaggerating." As for the outlook for this year's Best Actor, Kevin is not optimistic about the increase in market value given the current economic situation.
Artistes hardly escapes tabloid these days, with regards to his relationship with Charmaine Sheh, Kevin explains that they are merely friends from work, moreover, she is not his only tabloid partner in his 15 years career. However the couple was indeed seen appearing on the red carpet, for the award ceremony, and posing for photographs rather intimately.
Absence of negative remarks from the public has Kate Tsui doubting her acting skills
Miss Hong Kong 2004, Kate Tsui, made her mark from her appearance in "La Femme Desperado". However, her open discussion about sex related issue on a programme nearly caused her to be put in "cold storage", as viewers felt that her actions were damaging to the image of Miss Hong Kong Pageant. It was only after a public apology did the matter die down. In 2007, collaboration with Simon Yam and Tony Leung, in "Eye in the Sky" allowed her shine on screen once again. It was not hard to notice the efforts by her company to support and re-introduce her.
Kate received nomination for "Best Supporting Actress" for her role in "Moonlight Resonance". During her interview at the awards ceremony, she expressed her confidence in the production to win awards. Kate also reveals that it was her first time participating in such a huge production and she could really appreciate the production's secret to success. "Moonlight Resonance" walks away, a huge winner, with six awards.
Roger Kwok's flawless portrayal of the villain in "Last One Standing" made viewers hate "him", some even scolded him in public. On the contrary, Camie Lo from "Moonlight Resonance", played by Kate, did not win the "hate" of the public. This made Kate wondering if she had not done the part well. She does however, comments that viewers are more rational these days; and are able to differentiate reality from TV.

Actors of TVB's grand production "The Gem of Life" visited kidney patients at the Hougang-Punggol National Kidney Foundation on Dec 2, while on their drama promotional tour. The four actors, Louise Lee, Maggie Siu, Bosco Wong and Bowie Lam, gave out little gifts to the patients little gifts and brought home a valuable experience."I've learnt a lot. Kidney problems can bring much trouble. We were discussing about it just now; we should really take good care of our health," Lee says. Many patients being fans of Hong Kong dramas, requested for the actors' autographs and photo opportunities. The actors also send their well-wishes to the patients. "I hope they will not treat themselves as patients, because I know there are people around helping them. I hope they can face their illness with an optimistically," Maggie Siu says."Those who have no money can put in more effort; I can offer both financial aid and a helping hand," Bosco Wong says.

Despite Hong Kong's Television Broadcasts Limited assurance that artistes will not be affected in their recent retrenchment exercise, the Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor of the year, Ha Yu, Michelle Yim and Wayne Lai are still implicated. According to reports, TVB has halted their re-contract discussions. On the other hand, Linda Chung, Bosco Wong and Lee Heung Kam are the lucky ones who have secured their re-contracts and increment before the economy looms.

Lai is first to admit that the artiste management department has expressed their wish to postpone discussion of his re-contract. "This is not unusual and I will not be unhappy. I've been in this line for so long, I should have hit a wage ceiling. And my award has brought me extra income; I will be performing in Vancouver this New Year!" he reveals.

Yim appears optimistic and encouraging. "The company does not want this to happen either; they have no choice. Employees may be suffering but companies have their policies as well. Those retrenched should not be discouraged; they are professionals and I'm sure the company will rehire them when opportunity arises. As for myself, I still have one entire year of contract with TVB," she says.

Chung, who secured a re-contract before the downturn, is glad to get an increment too. "When I went back to office today, I realized many make up artists and hairstylists have received the retrenchment letter. I have known for four years and I'm really upset about this. Lets hope the crisis will be over soon," she says.

Wong, who just returned to Hong Kong from Toronto, is unsure of the retrenchment that is happening. "I have recently re-contracted for another two to three years and also got some increment. Retrenchment is a company's policy; I'm not in any position to comment. All I know is that I just lost one-third of my assets," he says.
